A Timeline of the HCC
Formed in 1892, The Hamilton Camera Club is one of the oldest camera clubs in Canada. Originally organized as a venue for black and white prints, the club evolved and included both colour prints and colour slides. The advent of the digital revolution saw the club again move with the times and highlight the digital print. With the purchase of a digital projector, the electronically projected image has now become another new medium of photographic expression for its members.
As it has always been, The Hamilton Camera Club is dedicated to helping amateur photographers enhance their skills in all facets of photography. As a member and camera enthusiast you can meet with others who have similar interests, exchange photographic ideas and questions, network, display your work and enter in competitions.

You will discover that the club offers a busy yet fascinating series of stimulating speakers, instructional presentations, outings, workshops and social events. Throughout the year, there are a number of clinics offered to the members who have the option of entering their work for evaluation by experienced judges. Comments and helpful hints are offered for all submissions making these evenings educational for all members.
In February the club participates in the Annual Three Club Exhibition held at the Burlington Art Centre. This event gives members the opportunity to display their images in a beautiful public setting and to see the works of many of the region’s finest photographers. The club also has an annual competition with the Don Mills Camera Club called the “Bronze Box” These events provide a chance to meet and enjoy social time with others who share a common interest.
